On successful completion of the lecture and exercises, students are able to apply finite element programs to solve linear elastic problems.

Demonstration of the use of finite element programs and the finding of solutions to practical problems dealt within the lecture. Guidance of the students how to independently solve such tasks and how to interpret the numeric results.

Assessment based on regular written and/or oral contributions by the participants.

The grading is based on accompanying assessments during the course and two technical reports. These reports are worked out as part of two projects, in which students have to solve examples with FE calculations using a FE program. The course will be positively judged, if the accompanying assessment and both projects are successfully completed or at least 50% of the total number of points are reached. A project is positively completed, if 50% of the possible points are reached.

Will be discussed in the first course.
