Students gain a basic knowledge about the organizational structures and cultures and their impact on actions resp. behavior of individuals and groups within the organizations. They can further identify the influence of organizational dynamics on the concerned stakeholders in the educational context. Students are able to make an organizational diagnosis and can interpret their observations using the patterns and theories discussed in the lecture.

Organizations help us to deal with complexity and are complex issues themselves. Organizations fulfill the core functions of society, thus they are not easy to guide and regulate.

Students of Educational Science should be able to understand how organizations “work”.

The lecture conveys the fundamentals of organizational models, structures and cultures and their effects on the behaviour of individuals and groups.
