Knowledge of different sexual-ethical approaches, their gender-specific (non-) differentiation, as well as their historical and contextual embedding.

The same norms and values which govern the whole of life apply to the area of sexuality - above all, the respect for human dignity and the negation of violence (Regina Ammicht Quinn). Do different sexual ethical approaches reflect this statement? Or do they design special standards for a demarcated area? How is the historical or cultural context reflected in sexual ethics? In which ways are the genders related to or separated from one another? Are violence and social relationships the subject of discussion in sexual ethics or do they design harmonious visions of relationships? In which context of meaning is human sexuality set, which religious interpretation is attributed to it? In the course, we will discuss different ethical approaches to sexuality, and tie them back to the specific cultural and historical context.

Introduction to the subject; research, presentations, group-discussions.

Active participation; presentation; independent work on the topics; seminar paper or diary.
