223934 SE Research Seminar: Designing the world. Theology and design theory in conversation
summer semester 2021 | Last update: 03.12.2020 | Place course on memo listStudents discuss a current theory.
Die Welt als Entwurf (1991) by Otl Aicher and Weltentwerfen. Eine politische Designtheorie (2016) by Friedrich von Borries - these two programmatic books are the textual basis of the reading seminar offered jointly with Michael Schüßler (University of Tübingen). To design the world means to design, theologically spoken, pastorally - and this can be understood in at least two directions: It is about designing pastoral and at the same time pastoral design. This difference between (church-)politics of design and design of (church-)politics opens up an exciting field of knowledge for the incipient conversation between theology and design theory.
Meeting, presentation, reading and discussion, in cooperation with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Schüßler from the chair of practical theology form the Katholisch-theologischen Fakultät from the Universität Tübingen.
