The legal history of the Austrian economy is - with the exception of selective aspects - one of the desiderata of legal historical research.The spectrum of topics to be dealt with in the seminar ranges from early modern times and the beginnings of economic regulation and control by the state (“policey” statutes, granting of privileges etc.), from the caesura around 1800 in the age of enlightenment and from the regulatory requirements resulting from the industrial revolution to the development lines of the 20th century to be described by the keyword "juridification". The developments during the two world wars will also receive attention.

Presentation of a paper and contributions to the discussion.

Selected literature, will be presented in the first lesson.
