Students understand the principles and connections of international relations and national foreign policy, and they are able to analyse them under supervision. Students know the basic elements of classical international law and are able to reproduce them. Moreover, they acquire the ability to present the main historical developments in the state system of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The proseminar will introduce you to the development and current state of the discipline of International Relations. You will receive an overview of and critically reflect on core theories and concepts such as war, oder, and power.
preparation and discussion of literature
exam and final paper
will be introduced at the beginning of the course.
