Students acquire advanced knowledge of statistical methods of empirical data analysis.
Based on social survey data (Allbus, European Social Survey, Austria) students will be introduced to the design of complex surveys and their statistical analysis with SPSS. Students will work on hypothesis, research questions, data analysis. In the end a presentation and a paper are obligatory.
Following a methodological introduction working groups develop a research question that they are to analyze subsequently. Workshop session offer the groups an opportunity to discuss work in progress, plenary session will be used to present research questions and findings.
Participation in plenary sessions including a presentation of research findings (40%) and a written research report (60%).
