The main objective of the PS is to deal with different practical fields of international HRM, describe and analyse the involved problems and also present possible solutions to these problems.  

Staffing, Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, industrial relations, organization of work, cooperation between local and international HR manager

Presentations by students, seminar papers, case studies, discussion of specific situations and problems of IHRM, feedback by lecturers

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Dowling, P. J., Festing, M., & Engle, A. D. (2008): International Human Resource Management: Managing people in a multinational context, London: Thomson Learning (Chapters 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 are particularly relevant for the final exam)

The PS includes a strong practical approach because one of the lecturers, Sandra Stenico, worked as Human Resource Manager for a large multinational company for more 25 years. She will bring in her experiences as HR manager and discuss practical cases of International HRM with the students.
