Strategic human resource management (SHRM) means dealing with how human resources work can promote the continued existence of a company. This requires establishing arrangements in recruitment and development, in work organization and in the maintenance of workforce, which not only enable efficient production, but also meet the needs of employees, legislators and society. This course encourages students to develop a comprehensive understanding of the extent to which the increasing demands on personnel work can be reconciled. The course focuses on the balance of different legitimate expectations and a critical examination of the implementation options.

Time-flexible self-study units with video clips, reading tasks and smaller work assignments to introduce the topics; discussion of work assignments, deepening of the topics by means of case studies and practical lectures in the virtual classroom
