Learning Outcome:

Overview over the field business and management; historical context of the field; (First) contact with central concepts of management and economics; Developing interest for further studies.

Contents:

Introduction to business and management: central concepts like sustainability, responsibility and competences in problem solving, scientific approaches to a question, ethics, historical development of the field, central concepts of management, operations and financial processes, finance, accounting, financial accounting.

Methods:

Lecture and discussion, whispering groups

Assessment:

Final exam: course in which course assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course
