Students will gain insight in pedagogic aspects of sports, relevant for learning and teaching. Ability to name as well as reflect on concepts and areas of sports education.

Insight into concepts of sports education, fields of action, learning environments. To begin with, basic terms will be explained, as well as the subject of sports education and an overview of its historical development. Furthermore, we will treat anthropological basics of the theory of sports education. The main focus of this course will be the pedagogic meaning of sports in its different fields of action. We will focus on and discuss theory as well as practice.

Independent reading and reading as a group, discussions, presentations, interpreting texts, group projects

Course with formative assessment, i.e., students are graded on the basis of written and/or oral tasks assigned regularly over the term.

Compulsory reading will be announced in the first session of the class.
