Students will gain insights into the mechanisms of literary reception on the basis of examples from “Neo-Ancient Greek literature”. This term refers to the texts composed in Ancient Greek from the beginning of the Renaissance to the present day.
An overview of the development of Neo-Ancient Greek literature; deeper study of selected texts will allow a closer look at specific thematic examples.
Presentation, translation, in-class discussion.
Final exam.
A reading list will be handed out during the course.
The requirement for participating in this course is a basic knowledge of Ancient Greek (at the level of the Graecum).
