The course deals with exile and migration literature and would like to connect both. The focus is on German-language exile literature 1933-1945 on the one hand and so-called German-language migration literature (with a focus on the post-Yugoslavian area) on the other hand, whereby the term migration literature is critically examined. It is considered to be literature that deals with the movement from the German-speaking area and those for which the German-speaking area is the target. In addition to the texts, the historical, social and cultural structures of exile, flight and integration are also examined.
Among others, texts by Anna Seghers, Annette Kolb, Ernst Toller, Thomas and Erika Mann, Saša Stanišić, Sandra Gugić will be discussed.
