The Spanish Cultural Studies II (PS) course will aim at a scientific exploration of historical and cultural questions arising in connection with the Spanish-speaking countries.

The course will focus on various aspects of culture in Spanish-speaking countries. Comparisons with the German-speaking countries will be made concurrently, taking into account the cultural transfers necessary in translation.

Interactive lessons with presentations, text analyses. The course will involve working both individually and in groups, and the presentation of results.

a) a written paper, b) a presentation with Power Point and handout, c) participation and completion of assignments

Working material and scripts will be distributed either in digital format or in hard copy.

In order to participate in the course students must have successfully completed compulsory module 4.

– compulsory module 6

Please don't forget to bring along an adequate confirmation in our first lesson. If you are signed in for the Bachelor in Translation Studies, please bring along a confirmation that proves that you have also passed the STEOP courses.

Electronic registration via the online study programme is compulsory for participation in the course.

An early issue of certificates (for extended deadlines etc.) is not possible.

Before completing the entrance and orientation phase of studies (StEOP), students may enrol for courses comprising a maximum of 22 ECTS.
