Acquisition of skills for dealing with historic sources and studies critically, as well as the competence to present the newly-gained knowledge verbally and/or in writing; Acquisition of the competence to apply methods of auxiliary sciences.

Reading and analysis of subject-specific sources and studies of an epoch or a field in history; recognizing of questions in historical sciences, perceptions of history and historic narratives; reading and evaluation of historiographic texts and their analysis as historic source.

Reading, oral presentations and handout, written paper, discussion; teacher's lecture.

Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, regular and active participation in discussions, oral presentation and handout, written paper (max. 5 pages).

A selected reading-list will be provided at the start of the course.
