Acquisition of competences and a critical attitude in dealing with historical sources and representations of Contemporary History as well as the ability to present the newly-acquired knowledge in oral and/or written form; acquisition of the competent use of relevant scientific methods.

Historical analysis of the Homeric epes (Ilias and Odyssee) as well as the research on Troy.

Lecture, reading tasks and exercises.

Combination of analogue teaching (one unit each for introduction and final discussion) and digital teaching. 

Regular attendance and participation in the discussion, kick-off speech, essay.

Will be announced in the lecture.

Concerning students of Bachelor´s programme of history: Before attending this course it is recommended to complete the VO3 Basiswissen (basic knowledge) from the respective core subject.
