The acquisition of basic skills in dealing with ancient sources.

This tutorial focuses on the development of the use of accusations of heresy, the motives and effects of in- and exclusion on the basis of dogmatic fault lines, as well as their overlap with political and cultural lines of conflict. By analysing historiographic, hagiographic, polemical, and juridical sources, students will also learn how to handle ancient sources in a critical and scholarly manner.

Combination of lecture, reading tasks, excercises and a final essay.
