By visiting selected historical and archaeological sites (i.a., Jerusalem, Jericho, Qumran, Masada, Scythopolis/Beth She'an, Bethlehem, Moses Mountain, Caesarea Maritima) the excursion contextualizes 2000 years of Jewish history in antiquity.

For participants of the MA History (803) and the Teacher Training Programme History (313) the excursion is only valid in combination with 640035 (UE 1). They will receive ECTS-credits according to their curriculum.
The lecture attendant on the excursion 640034 is recommended for all participants.
If the excursion to Israel is not possible due to Corona during the summer term, the topics will be dealt with and embedded in an alternative excursion destination.
