Introduction to general diplomatics. Exercise in transcribing, in source criticism and interpretation. The focus ist on imparting basic palaegraphic knowledge for the writings of the high and late Middle Ages.

We will exercise the content and methodological approaches of the auxiliary sciences with focus on diplomatics using case studies.

Exercises, case studies, discussion, lecture

Contribution in class; home exercises, short written exam.

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
