Students know and understand important algorithms and data structures and are able to create further algorithms on their own and to use them in their own programmes. They also understand the complexity of the various algorithms.

Analysis, complexity quantification and implementation of algorithms: to sort, search in sets, in trees and in graphs; characteristics of efficient algorithms and related data structures.

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
