Teaching the basics of instrumental analysis for the detection and quantification of drugs. A further focus is set on drug properties and test reactions of drugs.

Introduction to chromatographic (DC, SC, HPLC, GC) and spectroscopic (UV, IR) methods. Elemental analysis, colour reactions for DC-detection. Chemical basics for the analytical tests for e.g. alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, carboxylic acids and derivatives, amines as well as drugs.
