The learner can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation; he/she can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; he/she can produce clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Travelling, changes; living in cities; attitudes to money moral dilemmas and crime; impact of new inventions; goals and expectations; life achievements

To discuss choices/ changes; to make a request; to speculate about the past; to agree/ disagree; to ask a favour; to complaint; to use formal language; to express uncertainty; to express a point of view; to clarify something
Structural Goals:
gerund and infinitive - to distinguish between verbs; passive - to express actions in the passive voice; causative “have” and “get”; first and second conditionals - to talk about future possibilities; third conditional - to talk about imagined past events and their consequences; reported speech - to report what someone said/ thought in the past; past modals of deduction
