The course intends to provide the students the knowledge to solve practical cases in civil law. The course addresses beginners and isn’t meant to substitute the more intense course (Klausurenübung).

The course is divided into a theoretical part and a more significant practical part. The cases will be solved autonomously by students and discussed in class. Students have to bring a civil code to class and are invited to participate actively.

Case solving following the so called pretence method (Anspruchsmethode).

The assessment will consist of two written tests and the active participation in class.
