The lecture gives an overview of sociological perspectives in gender studies. It presents historical and recent research approaches and results of empirical analyses.  The lecture focuses on the changes of gender relations, for example in labour markets and politics, in the context of capitalist develooment as well as in relation to globalization and migration societies. Additionally social movements and feminist analyses, as well as research perspectives of intersectionality, care theories and lesbian and gay studies are introduced.
