Curr. 2021 § 5 (1) 13: Students acquire the ability to individually plan (research and study design, research hypoth-eses or heuristics, survey and evaluation procedure) and implement (data collection and eval-uation as well as result presentation) an empirical sociological research project as well as to relate theory, methodology and empirical research.

The research project deals with the ompact of the Covid pandemic on sustianble regional development in Tyrol. Students will investigate how the effects impact on various sectors like agriculture, tourism, labour relations, mobility... After a basic inventigation of trends that have changed due to the pandemic, we will look into options of influence on different spatial scales (local and regional) and on the tools applied by institutions of governancet to shift towards a more sustainable development and rural resilience. We wand to analyse the contributiion of the crisis to a social-ecological transformation of society towards sustainability

The research project uses a mix of qualitative (e.g. expert interviews) and quantitative methods (e.g. questionaires). Discussions and small group work; interpretation of the results and presentations

Active participation in the group and plenary work, presentations, a written interim and final report. Further details will be announced in the course.
