The term 'security society' is used in the context of criminological diagnoses of society to describe current societal transformations of social control: a change in criminal policy from a welfare-state model of punishment to a model of risk management; the shift of control to the realm of prevention; the pluralisation of responsibility in the production of security; the reversal of the burden of proof through preventive control; a new punitiveness in society, etc.
Lecture and seminar part; independent literature study; group work and presentations;
Written examination on the lecture contents; short written papers in the seminar part; "conference panels" of the working groups.
