Learning Outcome of the SE: Students are able to apply theoretical models within specific empirical research projects.
In this class, we examine the relationship of theory and qualitative empirical research. In presentations, exercises, and discussions we are going to develop different strategies for the application of existing theories and the development of new theories based on qualitative resesarch. Moreover, we will discuss how different theories and methodologies of qualitative research affect the kinds of questions we ask, the methods we use, and the way we do research.
