418611 EX Excursion (in the context of the lecture 'Trimedial Practice: Broadcast & Online): Media Summit / Lech, Arlberg
winter semester 2021/2022 | Last update: 31.08.2022 | Place course on memo listThe students are able to prepare and follow up a current topic from politics / society and media and to lead it in the context of a moderated panel discussion. In doing so, you will become aware of the interplay of expertise from the fields of media and communication and be able to actively apply this (media summit in Lech).
At the international media summit in Lech am Arlberg from December 2 to 4, top experts from journalism, politics and business will discuss "Wendejahre! The dawn of a new world? (www.mediengipfel.at). According to the organizers, the focus will be on the "fate of future generations...".
The University of Innsbruck is participating with its own expert discussion panel on the topic "Generation Protest? - The challenges for politics and media".
Within the framework of a scholarship program, selected students prepare this focus and are responsible for the moderated expert discussion.
The discussion will focus on the reasons for the emergence of protest movements, the analysis of the protest channels used, the analysis of the (targeted) involvement of (key) actors to create publicity, goals and (expected) success of protest actions.
Analysis, Presentation, Discussion, Moderation Training
Submission of a preparatory written paper, a related practical article (print, online, or broadcast), and writing a reflection at the end of the course (1-2 pages).
Literature will be announced in time on OLAT

Important Note:
Due to Corona this event had to be postponed. The 10 scholarship holders have already been selected (CV / motivation, two-page input on the topic "Generation Protest"). Transportation, free board and lodging, participation in the summit for the entire period will be covered. There will be a contribution of 20,00 €.
However, there might be the possibility of a replacement in case of a cancellation.
