Learning Outcome:

The course provides an overview of research methods and perspectives applied in accounting research. At the end of the course, students should understand the characteristics of different research methods and should be able to assess the quality of research papers.

Contents:

Historical evolution of accounting research; main research methods and perspectives in accounting; quality criteria for scientific work; overview of quantitative and qualitative methods.

Methods:

Lecture and discussion.

Assessment:

Written exam at the end of the term.

Literature:

Will be communicated at the beginning of the course.

Prerequisites:

Successfully completed mandatory module in accordance with paragraph 6 Z 5 as well as a successfully completed elective module in accordance with paragraph 7(1).
