Orientation in the field of accounting research; profound knowledge about research topics and issues of methodology and methods in accounting research.

 

 

Discussion of current research in accounting; theoretical and methodological aspects of accounting research

Presentations of international accounting researchers; reading and discussing basic literature related to the respective presentations; discussing and reflecting presentations; writing reviews of presentations.

Ongoing assessment: participation in discussions; review essays on reseach presentations.

Mandatory introductory reading (to be read prior to first session)

Hopwood, A. G. (1992). Accounting calculation and the shifting sphere of economics. Euro­pean Accounting Review, 1(1), 125-143.

This PhD research seminar is intended for students considering doing their PhD project in the field of accounting. If you want to do your PhD in another area, please choose an appropriate other PhD research seminar. Please be aware that not all disciplinary areas are offered each semester.

Participation in all classes is mandatory.
