Students build the knowledge, skills and mindset of future innovation managers. They discuss and understand the role of innovation as a source of competitive advantage in general and get an overview of innovation processes, management and strategy. 

• Understand key roles that individuals and teams play in innovation.
• Recognize structures, systems and processes that enable innovation.
• Learn how to use market research, design & prototyping for innovation success.
• Apply innovation theories as both leader and team member during innovation projects.

Organizations today operate in highly interwoven ecosystems consisting of a multitude of powerful and diverse stakeholders. The innovation management has become ever more challenging and complex. After starting with well-established traditional innovation management theory, you will be introduced to innovation scholars that scrutinize and challenge these approaches by exploring new ways to innovate. Best practice examples of current innovation champions are used to illustrate how to innovate successfully and develop creative solutions. Consequently, traditional innovation management approaches are not dismissed as obsolete – they still find usage and applicability in many cases – but we want to emphasize the urgency for innovation, the necessity to deal with digitalization and introduce new forms and logics of innovation.
