Disrupted by pandemics, global warming, political chaos, technological innovation, … an excerpt, we need to be prepared for an unpredictable and unknown future.

The aim of this course is to establish a solid grounding, as well as practical deep insights, to students interested in managing various aspects of creativity and change within and beyond organizations and their environment. Major topics include how the processes of change and creativity work and can be purposely managed; You will learn how to create an organizational environment that rewards innovation and creativity and how to design appropriate change processes. Students will be introduced to concepts of purposely and successfully stimulating and managing change within organization. Further you will learn about the role creativity plays during the change process and how to employ various techniques that can be applied to identify, analyze and implement change activities within organizations.

The course will examine the perceived complexity of change and digital transformation. We will focus on the challenges and key elements of digital transformation and will discuss its implication for organizations. As digital transformation is an ongoing, dynamic process every organizations will face obstacles during its digital transformation journey. The course will pay particular attention to personal transformation of the leader in the in the attempts to prepare a company for the digital age and the process of transforming a company. For better or worse, agile methods are in contrast to the organizational leadership, management, and governance structures of modern-day businesses, which — like waterfall approaches — rely on autocratic predict-and-control management that tends to fight change.

This course will use a combination of lectures, guest speakers, discussions and assignments on the module blog, group works, simulation game, case studies, reading assignments and student presentations and excursions.
