winter semester 2021/2022 | Last update: 16.06.2021 | Place course on memo listThe seminar course deepens the topics discussed in the VU International Management in two ways. First, we will discuss academic literature that investigates some of the topics we discuss in greater detail. Second, we will analyze case studies that show how international strategy and investment plays out in concrete scenarios.
Same as in the VU course, we will cover the following topics.
- The relation of international management to economics
- Measuring and managing country risk
- Internationalization strategy
- Strategic management of multinational companies
- Valuation, assessment, and financing of international investment projects
- International management from real options and project finance perspectives
- Political strategies of multinational companies
This class is highly interactive. Students will present research papers and suggested solutions to case studies. We will discuss these materials in the context of the input we covered in the VU class.
