Qualitative Research Methiods II is designed for PhD students, who will mainly work with qualitative methods in their dissertation. This advanced course is designed to introduce and work with current methods and analyses in interpretive research and discuss their methodological background. We will critically reflect and discuss the ontological and epistemological foundations of qualitative-interpretive research. The main objective of this course is to help participants apply appropriate methods of inquiry to their various research problems and objectives. To this end, the lecturers will provide brief examples and extant case studies so as to enable productive inquiry and practical experience with real qualitative research data. Hands on training should help participants decide, which methods and techniques are most (in-)appropriate for their own research objectives and questions.

This course uses the active learning model in which you will become active participants. It deploys a mixture of lectures, presentations, debates, group work, discussions, and working sessions. Every participant is requested to read the papers given beforehand and jot down her/his reflections for in-class discussion.
