Ability to critically analyse language and language use based on the knowledge from the lecture.

Contents:

Interactive review of selected topics from the field of the lecture; exploration of the interrelation between language, health and society by the analysis of specific examples e.g. dealing with health politics, institutional health communication, doctor-patient-interaction, health discourses in media.

Methods:

Preparatory reading and discussion of relevant texts, exemplary analysis of examples, short presentations

Assessment:

Engagement in the discussion, short presentation(s), short paper(s)
