To achieve B2+ level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

Developing language proficiency using an integrated skills approach that focuses on applying all productive and receptive skills. This course will nonetheless complement the other two courses in this module by placing particular emphasis on listening and speaking skills, in addition to intense vocabulary building.  

Interactive lecture using an integrated skills approach to language learning. Classroom activities will be supplemented by intense and guided self-study.

Continuous assessment, assignments and up to two exams (mid-term and end of term).

In order to complete this course successfully, all criterion required for evaluation must be fulfilled.  

All course materials and assignments will be made available on OLAT.

Recommended book for self-study:

English Vocabulary in Use: Advanced by Michael Mc Carthy and Felicity O'Dell (Cambridge University Press). 

 

Successful completion of the placement test (Sprachniveaueingangsprüfung) is a requirement for this course.

The requirements for course registration stipulated in the curriculum must be observed.


Places on this course will be allocated on a centralized basis. However, you may not be allocated a place in your preferred group due to high demand.
