winter semester 2021/2022 | Last update: 03.02.2023 | Place course on memo listThis course gives insights into the Montessori pedagogy and other educational reform approaches and practices the concept of self-help.
In this course the basic principles of Montessori education in the context of essential reforms of the Austrian school systems are introduced. The main focus is the conceptual idea of this approach and its practical implementation at all levels of education up to graduation.
In the practical part, resulting from the Montessori teaching methodology, elements with a focus on High Schools are developed.
Self-experience with Montessori materials, Lectures about the basics and history of the Montessori Method and the concept for High Schools.
Practical part: Visitation of a reformed school, taking part in a seminar and a project.
Reading and discussion of issued documents, writing a visitation report, encyclopedia, essay, project presentation.
