645008 VO Epochs: From traditional to rational domination: a fluid transition. Structures in the Roman Empire, in Austria and in Tyrol from the 16th to the 19th century
winter semester 2021/2022 | Last update: 18.02.2022 | Place course on memo listThe lecture imparts basic knowledge of historical concepts and describes structures, that facilitate understanding the political and social development from the 16th to the 19th century.
Economic foundations, social stratification, civilizational-cultural processes and forms of rule (corporate and absolutist state, empire and modern state). Max Weber's conceptuality serves as a heuristic tool. Getting to know this epoch thoroughly is, not least, an important contribution to civic education.
Topics will be introduced in lectures; essays and sources will be analysed and commented in class.
Written test in the form of open questions.
