Acquisition of advanced knowledge in Austrian history in the time span between 1700 and 1918/1938.

The course intends to provide the participants with a deeper understanding for the historical developments in the Austrian/Habsburgs territories focusing on the 18^th and 19^th century. It will cover aspects of the core of Habsburg History: how did the Imperial Court function? What was the role of confessional marginal groups and how did this change over 200 years? What do we know about social changes in this period such as the growing number of the middle class and the working class and the living conditions of the rural population?
