- Insight into Imaging Physics with focus on methods of optical microscopy
- Introduction to numeric methods of simulation of optical systems (Fourier-optic, matrix-optics)
- Coding excercises in Matlab / Python
The course aims at providing insight into the physics of imaging. This VU will draw a bow from optical methods of microscopy (2D/3D imaging physics, raster-scan-methods, methods of tree-dimensional super-resolution, wave front measurement) to medical relevant techniques like X-ray computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Theoretical contents will go along with coding excercises in Python. These will include e.g. simulation of light propagation or image reconstruction in CT.
Lecture accompanied by computer excercises. Studends are urged to bring their laptops.
Final written exam, participation will be considered.
Basic knowledge of Matlab, Python or Julia desirable.
