Participants of this course should become familiar with the different methods of Computational Physics. They should learn how to implement and apply theses methods. They should acquire the ability to identify the relevant methods to handle a physical problem and be able to translate this knowledge into the implementation of a numerical experiment. Apart from that they should acquire improved knowledge of the work flow with the computer and the strengths and weaknesses of the different numerical schemes.
The course consists of several independent experiments, which will be announced in the first meeting.
Preparation and realisation of the experiments following provided descriptions. Summary of the experiments and the results to be handed in by the students in form of a lab report.
The examination of preparation, performance in the lab and the lab report will be assessed. The overall grade will be derived by a point system.
Further literature will be given in the context of the description of the different experiments.
