707702 VU Atmosphärische Strahlungsprozesse und Fernerkundung
Wintersemester 2021/2022 | Stand: 28.09.2021 | LV auf Merkliste setzenThe course will give an overview of electromagnetic radiation and it's interaction with the atmosphere. This includes aspects of radiative balance, atmospheric optics and remote sensing applications. We will also discuss remote sensing methods for atmospheric research and meteorology from ground, airborne and spaceborne platforms.
1. Theory of electromagnetic radiation
2. Interaction of EM with the atmosphere
3. Remote sensing applications
Vorlesung mit Übung (Vorträge der Studierenden)
combined test ('VU: Immanenter Pruefungscharakter')
Physical principles of remote sensing, Rees.
Atmospheric science. Wallace and Hobbs.
The lecture is a combined format (Vorlesung und Übung). It will be blocked and (due to Corona restrictions) likely pooled into two groups depending on the number of students that enroll. Expect also to do group work/homework. The lecture will start on the 11th of October and will also be live streamed. Due to space restrictions two groups will alternate every week. All other information will also be communicated via OLAT and on October 11th where we will schedule 1h for Group 1 and 1h after for Group 2, so that both can be on campus.
