At the end of the LVA , participants will be able to:
# To name different interpretations of goals and tasks of spatial planning,
# To define spatial planning and to identify different perspectives on spatial planning,
# To identify key objectives and principles of spatial planning actions and to relate to each other ,
# Important to know levels of spatial planning in Austria and their modes of interaction ,
# Knowing goals, challenges , procedures and instruments on local, local and informal spatial planning as well as their relationships to each other ,
# To designate objectives , principles and possibilities of regional management ,
The importance of the European regional policy and to assess governance for spatial planning in Austria of Regional,
# Possibilities of spatial planning for and response to natural hazards to name ,
# To assess the life-world control ability spatial arrangements .

The aim of this lecture is to give an overview of self-understanding, tasks, operations and effects of spatial planning in Austria. Starting from a discussion of the term "planning" basic goals and tasks of spatial planning and its change are presented. After that is the organizational structure of the Austrian spatial planning with their different levels, actors and instruments at the center. The models range from the European Spatial Development of national development concepts to instruments on local and local land use planning. Specifically, the level of regional development planning is discussed in its interface function between spatial planning and regional management.

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
