winter semester 2021/2022 | Last update: 05.10.2021 | Place course on memo listGraduates of this module acquire knowledge of the current research approaches in the field of General Geography as well as in didactics for GE. In addition, they are familiar with the latest research finding. They are able to develop specific geographic models, methods, approaches and issues in relation to the current state of research in a discursive way and advance their ability to critically question it.
This course in seminar format communicates the current state of research in the most important subdisciplines of Physical and Human Geography. Based on exemplary topics, expressiveness in writing (seminar paper), in speaking (oral lecture) and in discourse (lecture discussion) are exercised and advanced.
The students will present their work on the various topics of human and physical geography and discuss it with the course instructor and with other students.
The examination consists of the evaluation of the oral version of a topic on General Geography as well as of the evaluation of the involvement in the critical discussions during the sessions.
