Theory based analysis of literary texts and art from a gender-critical perspective
Using texts and works of art from different eras and cultures this course will enquire into different aesthetic representations and de/constructions of gender in a historical perspective. We will particularly deal with texts and art from the 19th to the 21 century (i.e. Virginia Woolf, Gertrude Stein, Simone de Beauvoir, Claude Cahun, Louise Bourgeois, Cindy Sherman et al.)
Reading and joint analysis of texts and works of art.
Three short essays (about 900 words) on three different topics and texts or works of art.
A bibliography will be published on OLAT at the beginning of the term.
