The students acquire individual but broadly diversified knowledge and skills in various fields of architecture. They develop a strategic understanding for the integration of technical knowledge into the conception, planning, implementation and teaching of architecture.

Fritz Beblo (1872-1947) had a decisive influence on the urban space of Strasbourg and Munich, and yet his name rarely features in the narratives of "modern architecture". Together with models such as Karl Schäfer or Theodor Fischer (whom he succeeded in Munich) and comrades-in-arms such as Paul Schmitthenner and the Bonatz brothers, he sought architectural forms that would be both modern and steeped in tradition. In this seminar, we will focus on the architect's training and his time as head of the engineering office in Strasbourg (1903-1919), drawing on new archive material.  The event will also serve as preparation for an exhibition at the Strasbourg University and National Library, thus providing participants with practical experience at the same time.

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
