Students are able to identify and evaluate fundamental structures, processes, developments and

trends of the various media systems, country-specific communication cultures and their

influence on public opinion. Using various theoretical approaches, students can analyze factors

that alter communication systems. Moreover, they can connect political-cultural attitudes to

country-specific patterns and various communication practices.

In this seminar, the theoretical debates (theories, concepts and models) dealt with in the VO Political Communication will be examined, elaborated and discussed in depth by the students - current events and issues will be used for this purpose.

Presentation of semester work, active participation in the discussion

Submission of a written paper
