The participants gain insight into the ancient Greek literary history. They possess an in-depth knowledge of some of the most influential texts written in ancient Greek and are able to locate them within their original literary and cultural context. 

Discussion of a number of different Greek classics (for example, Homer, Odyssey; Sappho, Songs; Herodotus, Histories), close reading of specific text passages in translation.

Lectures hold by course instructor, reading and interpretation of relevant text passages.

Commitment, final written exam

will be announced.

No prior knowledge in Greek literature or language is required for attending the seminar.
