In this course, we will consider how language is a way of representing the world and how we use and make conscious choices regarding both lexis and grammar when making and communicating meaning. Through an examination of a broad range of written texts, we will explore how grammar functions in a variety of contexts. In addition to this analytical approach to formal and functional grammar, we will also focus on text production skills, and you will have the opportunity to hone your writing skills in different genres, styles, and for different social purposes.
