• familiarity with concepts and methods of examining digital cultures in relation to feminism
• knowledge of methods and currents in feminist media studies and postdigital cultural studies
• ability to process contemporary academic output in a self-directed manner

In this course, we examine digital cultures in relation to feminism. After establishing social and infrastructural perspectives onto digital networks, we will discuss a range of feminist engagements online. Our focus will be on areas of popular and everyday culture, for instance media platforms, news outlets, educational initiatives and meme-sharing websites.

Reading and discussing research material on a weekly basis.

Contributions to discussions, moderation of an expert session, term-paper of ca. 3.500 words in MLA style
